External Tertiary Providers for NCEA

The wharekura has a relationship with Wintec (Waikato Institute of Technology) based in Hamilton.  Other local tertiary groups and educational institutes are utilised to provide broad learning opportunities based on career pathways for senior pupils.

The wharekura has NCEA accreditation to deliver NCEA level 1-3 internal tests.  In 2016 the kura had its MNA review in which we received a 3 yr review cycle.  We have a relationship with Te Kuuiti High School to participate in NCEA external exams.

We endeavour to provide opportunities for our students to start tertiary training while still at kura.  A careers co-ordinator is charged with seeking work experience & STAR program opportunities and working closely with all students especially in Yr 11-13.

The kura will utilise local expertise in the areas of whakairo and mahi raaranga.  This will be part of a STAR program with local mahi toi experts.
